Annual Fund Gifts

Donor support to Whitehead Institute helps underwrite signature programs in cutting edge research, training, outreach and education. For example:

A gift of... Can enable...
$250 a month of microarray facility use for one researcher
$1,000 5 students to attend the Whitehead Spring Lecture Series for High School Students
$1,500 a graduate student or postdoc to present their research at a national scientific conference
$2,500 a year’s worth of Petri dishes and plastic supplies for one researcher
$5,000 the purchase of an incubator for growing cells OR reagents and gene expression arrays for a typical microarray experiment
$10,000 one year’s production of Whitehead Biology Week, a community service publicizing Boston-area scientific seminars, symposia, lectures and other events
$25,000 the purchase of a stereozoom microscope with camera
$40,000 75 area teachers to participate in the Whitehead Seminar Series for High School Teachers for one academic year OR one BOA Annual Meeting and Colloquium
$100,000 Postdoctoral fellowship
