Whitehead strives to share the insights and expertise of its scientists with other researchers.

Facilities available to the scientific community

  • The Genome Technology Core a fee-for-service core facility supporting a variety of technologies for genome research. It serves Whitehead Institute and MIT, as well as the Boston and Cambridge academic and biotech communities.
  • The W.M. Keck Facility for Biological Imaging provides scientists with the equipment and training necessary to generate and interpret microscopic images. In addition to serving the Whitehead and MIT community, the facility is open to the local research community.

Career opportunities

Consider applying for a position in a Whitehead lab.

Bioinformatics and Research Computing site

This site contains links to numerous resources and information related to computational methods of biological data. These pages provide options for searching publicly available databases, analyzing nucleotide and protein sequences for biologically meaningful information, and accessing web-based tutorials of computational tools.

Bioinformatics for Biologists courses

Bioinformatics for Biologists is a series of bioinformatics mini-courses that introduce a broad scope of bioinformatics tools, providing both theory and practical applications.

Whitehead Library
The library is a resource for researchers to gain online access to the scientific literature.

Biology Week

As a service to the scientific community, Whitehead Institute hosts Biology Week, a listing of biology seminars and symposia in the Boston/Cambridge area.
